Police arrest Jacksonville man for two carjackings hours apart

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office police report, a man carjacked a man with a child in a car and another man who was going to a corner store.

The crimes happened within hours of each other.

The first happened at a Foodmart in the Arlington area. Police say the man was approached and carjacked at gunpoint.

The victim, William Ramos, said he threw his keys and ran inside the store to get away after the suspect put a gun to his head.

Ramos said he was frustrated because he needs his car to work.

Another police report details a second carjacking that happened hours later in a Northside neighborhood.

A man and child were forced out of a car. Police then arrested Cleophis Metcalfe in the second stolen car.

Metcalfe was arrested for carjacking with a firearm.

Ramos says his car is not running because the suspect did not know how to drive a stick shift.
