Thousands of bees released Baldwin area after crash involving bee truck

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol is asking drivers to avoid the intersection of U.S. 301 and I-10 eastbound ramp due to a bee truck accidentally releasing thousands of bees in the area.

According to the report from FHP, at around 3:15 a.m., a tractor-trailer collided with a truck hauling approximately a million bees. Thousands of bees escaped and are currently flying around the area.

The beekeeper is on scene recovering the bees at this time, but the public is advised to use caution in the area.
