Woman dies after being hit in Walmart parking lot off Merrill Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 65-year-old woman is dead after being hit in the parking lot of Walmart off Merrill Road Thursday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police say, a driver was leaving the parking lot and hit the woman.

JSO says the woman was trapped underneath the vehicle when they arrived.

Officers and several citizens used a jack to try to get the woman out but sadly the woman did not survive.

The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.
