TRAFFIC ALERT: Multi-vehicle crash involving semi-truck causes heavy traffic and injuries on I-95

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — 12:15 PM UPDATE: All northbound lanes have reopened. Two southbound lanes remain blocked as SJCFR’s hazmat team continues to mitigate the fuel leak.


Both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-95 between State Road 16 and County Road 214 are seeing heavy traffic Saturday morning after a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck.

As of 11:45 a.m., emergency responders were allowing one lane of traffic through in each direction.

A spokesperson from St. Johns County Fire Rescue told Action News Jax they transported 4 adults and 1 child, all of whom are in stable condition.

SJCFR additionally confirmed the crash involved a semi-truck, and its hazmat team is mitigating an active fuel leak.
