JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A fan fell from the upper deck at EverBank Field during the USA vs Nigeria Soccer Match.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, they found Joseph Cuidy, 24, lying unresponsive in the second level concourse area just before seven o'clock Saturday.
Witnesses tell police the man was seen running up the stairs to the top of Section 244. Witnesses say it looked like the victim was going to stand on a chair. When the witness looked again, she saw the chair folded up, and the victim lying on his back in the 2nd level concourse.
Police say the victim fell 42 feet. He was taken to UF Health for surgery. He was listed in critical condition. Police say it did not appear that the victim had been drinking at the time of his fall.
