Fans pay tribute to the late Alan Rickman at Platform 9 3/4

LONDON, England — A memorial has grown at Platform 9 3/4 for the late Alan Rickman.

Fans of the late actor, known for his role as Professor Severus Snape in the Harry Potter franchise, have started a makeshift memorial at Platform 9 3/4.

The fictional platform at King's Cross in London was used in the Harry Potter franchise as a way for students to board the Hogwarts Express -- the magical train that took students to Hogwarts School of Witchraft and Wizardry each year.

Rickman died Thursday at the age of 69.
