FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — The person who made the calls is described as a man who had a Middle Eastern accent. The caller threatened to detonate a bomb in the store if money was not loaded onto a Green Dot card in 10 minutes, according to Fernandina Beach Police Chief James Hurley.

The three businesses that received calls were as follows: Walgreens on Sadler Road at 2:22 p.m., Dollar Tree at Amelia Plaza at 2:35 p.m. and Radio Shack in Amelia Plaza at 2:42 p.m.
All three businesses were searched by the Nassau County Sheriff's Office and FBPD and no devices were found at any of the locations, Hurley said.
The extortion attempts have been taking place across the country since 2013.
