DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A fire was reported Monday afternoon at The Villas at Dames Point Crossing apartment complex.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded around 2:30 p.m. to the fire, near Hartsfield and Merrill roads. The fire was under control at 10 minutes.
A person living in the apartments called 911 and jumped from the third-story balcony, officials said. A man was injured by the fire and is recovering at UF Health Jacksonville.
The fire started in the living room, but it is not known how it started.
