First Alert Weather: Dreary with more waves of rain

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — WATCH LIVE: Meteorologist Corey Simma has your First Alert forecast all morning long on FOX30.

Dreary weather continues for the rest of the day as lots of low clouds and off and on showers continue. Rain has been heavy at times along and north of I-10 through Baker and Columbia counties and this will band of rain will drift east impacting portions of Duval and Nassau counties through the early evening. Localized flooding will be possible in these areas with rainfall amounts ranging from 2-4" with the slow movement. Rain will eventually decrease into the late evening with just some leftover showers overnight. Most of the heavy rain will have subsided. Temps are in the 70s and 80s due to so much cloud cover. 
Sunday looks similar although we may see a few more breaks in the clouds as opposed to today. This would allow for a few embedded thunderstorms into the afternoon as waves of showers continue spreading into NE FL from the Southwest. SE GA may stay a little drier Sunday but rain increases again Monday as more waves of rain and storms come out of the Southwest from the Gulf of Mexico. By Tuesday we get back to a normal pattern with daily afternoon showers and storms from interactions with sea breezes.

TROPICS: The center of a low pressure area has begun to drift just northeast of NE FL/SE GA and will continue moving into the western Atlantic over the next couple of days. This low is responsible for the flooding rain in some areas. Tropical development not expected as this moves slowly AWAY from FL.
