JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team said you can expect for the forecast:

  • Scattered, locally heavy shower bands will move through early this evening and slowly break up overnight, with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.
  • A brief respite from the heaviest rain Thursday (after anywhere from 4-13” of rain in many spots since Friday) with only a few brief showers as highs top out in the low 80s.
  • Showers & t’storms with potential heavy rain will return Friday into Saturday. The flood risk will increase again, along with the chance for a few strong storms.
  • As Isaias makes landfall Fri. night along the Central/Eastern Gulf coast from Pascagoula to Mobile, southerly flow & summer-like warmth & humidity will dominate the weekend.  Another round of scattered showers & storms will arrive Sunday with a strong storm threat.
  • Drier weather finally takes over Mon.-Wed. of next week.

  • Strengthening Isaias is over the Western Gulf & should become a hurricane by Thursday then make a northward beeline to the Mississippi/Alabama coastline Fri. night-early Saturday. Few direct impacts but peripheral bands of showers & storms will be heavy at times with at least some threat for strong/severe storms from time to time. Always more: “Talking the Tropics With Mike”.
