JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — This morning a slow-moving thunderstorm is impacting St. Johns county with heavy rain and frequent lightning.
- Some neighborhoods have already received more than an inch of rain, especially from parts of Nocatee to south Ponte Vedra Beach.
- Elsewhere conditions are dry with temperatures in the 70s.
- Temperatures will rise back to the upper 80s and lower 90s today, with more afternoon thunderstorms.
- Thursday will feature more afternoon storms.
- The Jags game Friday evening will be partly cloudy and warm with a few storms around earlier in the day, perhaps lingering close to kickoff.
- Highs through the weekend and next week will be near August averages in the low 90s. Mornings in the 70s.

- Invest 96L continues to move west but is in no hurry to organize. It may never organize, as has been the trend this hurricane season, but we are watching.
- The next name on this year’s list is Dolly.
