First Alert Weather: Summertime heat and storms this weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team said you can expect for the forecast:

  • Storms press toward I-95 & the beaches Friday evening
  • Rain & a few storms will linger through sunset well north & south of Jax
  • This weekend will be hot, with temps in the mid-90s each day
  • Rain & storms will be more numerous on Saturday, late afternoon & evening
  • Sunday will see less storms than Saturday, but there will still be some rain
  • The Jags game will be very hot inside EverBank Stadium
  • The start of the game will be dry
  • Heads up for a storm or two nearby during halftime & the second half
  • A few storms continue Monday
  • Onshore winds build in mid-week, roughing up the beaches
  • Temps go down slightly with the onshore wind
  • We’ll see a few showers each day but the overall trend is drier
