JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — WATCH LIVE: Meteorologist Garrett Bedenbaugh will have the First Alert forecast on CBS47 at Noon:
A heat advisory remains in effect through late afternoon with temperatures in the 90s and "feel like" temps. of 103-109 degrees. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will develop but coverage will be sparse - less than a quarter of the area managing to get any cooling rain.
WEEKEND:
Heat and high humidity will continue with only a few scattered storms Saturday then afternoon storms increasing Sunday. Highs will reach the 90s both days.
BEACH:
The heat will make it all the way to the beaches through the weekend thanks to west (offshore) winds for the majority of both days. Sunburn times will be low as 10 minutes... air temps. will reach the 90s... water temps. are in the mid 80s... surf will average 1 -3 feet... with low rip current risk. An isolated afternoon storm will be possible Saturday with a higher risk for an afternoon storm Sunday.
