JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Hunters participating in Florida’s Statewide Alligator Hunt and Super Hunt can now log their harvests online using the Fish | Hunt FL mobile app. The digital reporting feature became available for hunter use starting Aug. 15.

Under state regulations, hunters must record their alligator harvest within 24 hours or before transferring the harvest.

If cellular service is unavailable to submit an online report prior to transferring a carcass, hunters are required to record the harvest information in a temporary harvest transfer log. Hunters may use this log for up to 24 hours until the information can be entered online.

The temporary harvest transfer log must contain specific detailed information regarding the harvest. Required details include the permittee’s legal name, CITES tag number, date of harvest, county and water body where harvested, total length of the alligator in feet and inches, date and time of transfer and the legal name of the receiving party.

To submit an online harvest report using the Fish | Hunt FL app, hunters log into their account, tap the “hunting” option and select “Alligator Harvest Reports.” Further information regarding alligator hunting regulations and management is available through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission website.
