JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida lawmakers are hoping the third time is the charm for passing a law banning so called "revenge porn."
Lawmakers have tried for the last three years to pass a law criminalizing revenge porn. Right now, it's legal in Jacksonville and across Florida.
The latest House version of the bill has made it to the justice appropriations subcommittee.
The measure would make it a third-degree felony to post a sexually explicit image online without that person's consent.

It would also allow law enforcement to arrest someone, without a warrant, if the officer believes they are violating this law.
Companion legislation was introduced in the Florida Senate on March 6, but it hasn't made any progress since then.
Action News spoke to victims' advocates who blast the legislation because it's limited to only photos that are sent electronically.
Right now, there are 13 states with revenge porn laws on the books.
