Giving Tuesday 2017: Jacksonville local guide

After shopping on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, you can give to a good cause in support of Giving Tuesday.

According to givingtuesday.org, the social media movement started in 2012 as a way for people to kick off their holiday and end-of-year charitable giving.

Using the hashtag #GivingTuesday, the movement’s organizers have helped people across the United States donate hundreds of millions of dollars.

Last year, people donated $177 million. This year, analysts from Whole Whale, a nonprofit digital data agency, predict the donations will be more than $200 million.
