BRUNSWICK, Ga. — The City of Brunswick will hold a free Tire Amnesty Event Sept. 23-26, allowing local residents to dispose of old vehicle tires.
The drop-off program is a City of Brunswick initiative supported by Glynn County and Keep Golden Isles Beautiful. Collection will take place inside the city’s fenced lot at 821 Bay St., located at the corner of Prince and Bay Streets.
The takeback program operates Sept. 23, 24 and 25 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Sept. 26, collection runs from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
Organizers warned that any tires left at the facility before or after the stated hours will be treated as an illegal dumping violation.
Participation is restricted to residents of the City of Brunswick and Glynn County. Drivers must present proof of residence at the collection point and drop-offs are limited to a maximum of three tires per vehicle.
All submitted tires must be clean and dry. Acceptable items include car, SUV, light truck and semi-truck tires.
Officials will not accept commercial tires, competitive racing slicks, farm equipment tires or tires attached to rims.
