Could another location for mega gas station Buc-ee’s be headed to the Jacksonville metro area?
Economic leaders in Glynn County have confirmed to WTOC in Savannah that they’ve approved plans for a large travel center off Exit 42 (Georgia State Road 99) on Interstate 95.
County officials wouldn’t confirm to WTOC the name of the travel center, but WTOC found business filings through the Georgia Secretary of State’s office show the creation of Buc-ee’s Brunswick, LLC.
This would be the third Georgia location for the Texas-based chain, which has locations along I-75 in Warner Robins and in Calhoun.
Thrillist named the chain America’s best pit stop in April 2017.
Locals have had the chance to experience the cult-like following that comes along with the beaver nuggets, brisket and homemade fudge: the first Buc-ee’s in Florida opened in St. Augustine at I-95 and International Golf Parkway in February 2021. The following month, the second Buc-ee’s in Florida opened just about an hour south off I-95 and LPGA Boulevard in Daytona Beach.

Buc-ee’s now has 35 locations in the Lone Star State. The chain began branching out to other states in 2019 and has also opened two travel centers in Alabama, in addition to the two Florida and two Georgia locations.
Buc-ee’s also recently opened its first Kentucky store in Richmond, as well as its first South Carolina location about four-and-a-half hours north of Jacksonville in May.
One of the chain’s two Tennessee stores under construction opened at the end of June and Buc-ee’s also announced the development of its first stores in Colorado, Mississippi, and Missouri.
