A major Hollywood scandal may have roots in Gwinnett County.
Several online publications say the man who hacked iCloud devices to steal and leak dozens of nude celebrity photos is 27-year-old Bryan Hamade of Lawrenceville.
Hamade faces no criminal charges and denies stealing the photos that include some of Oscar award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence.
Hamade told one Internet news site he was hoping to cash in on them.
"I am not behind this. It was so stupid. I saw a lot of people posting the actual leaks and bitcoin addresses and I’ve read a lot about bitcoin and how they are valuable and I thought, “Oh, cool. I'll get free bitcoins," Hamade told BuzzFeed.

"I regret it so much. I didn't even get any bitcoin out of it. It's the stupidest thing I've done and I hope it won't ruin my life, though it probably will since it's just the biggest news story," Hamade told BuzzFeed.
Neighbors on Lawrenceville’s Branch Tree Way knew all about the scandal, but had no idea it would hit so close to home.
"I’m extremely surprised to hear, extremely," said neighbor Patsy Anglin.
"We don't really know if he did it or not, but currently we are going inside and changing all of our passwords," said neighbor Dana Harvey.
Throughout the day there was no response at Hamade's home until late Tuesday afternoon when Hamade's mother arrived home.
At first, she had nothing to say, but later came out and spoke and made the following statement.
"His attorney will be contacting y’all to schedule an interview or a statement," said Hamade’s mother Jenna Bennett.
"I hope if it really was him that he is ashamed of himself, because he really should be," said neighbor Sara Packer.
