‘Help this family get some closure’: Police search for suspect who shot & killed Jacksonville father

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The search for a killer continues on the Northside.

An argument at a gas station led to a deadly shooting on July 15. The family of victim Anthony Bell, 35, wants answers. They’re now left without a father and husband.

“Do the right thing. Come back, tell the information and help this family get some closure,” MAD DADS Jacksonville Chapter Outreach Coordinator AJ Jordan said.

Bell’s family was unable to speak with us on Friday but through MAD DADS, they’re asking the public for help.

Bell’s killer is still out there.

“We know it was a lot of people there. It was about ten people there. We know that those ten people that left the scene got information,” Jordan said. “So we would encourage those people to come back because the family is hurting and that can be your family next.”

JSO said the shooting stemmed from an argument in a parking lot involving Bell and 10 others. They said that’s when a young man in a dark hoodie shot Bell several times.

The EZ Stop Food Store manager said he heard three shots and then saw a bunch of people scramble the night of the incident.

Other folks at the gas station on Friday were unable to give us more information.

Jordan said if we want a safer city, we must speak up.

“We see shootings quite often, and if we see more than we want to see, that’s why it’s important for the public to come forward with the information they have to get the arrest, to get the conviction, to get the people in jail,” Jordan said.

You can report information to JSO, CrimeStoppers, or even to MAD DADS.

According to MAD DADS, you can receive a reward of up to $3,000 for information.
