DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — It is almost the peak of tree pollen season and allergists are seeing more people suffering from the symptoms.
Action News reported last April on the studies that said Jacksonville was one of the worst Florida cities in which to live if you suffer from allergies.
The First Alert Weather Team said the high pollen count goes along with the high temperatures and dry air. Allergists said most aren't allergic to the pine pollen that collects on people's cars; instead, the culprit is the pollen moving through the air.
"Jacksonville is kind of right on the dividing line of what we get coming down from above us and then also what's coming up from the subtropical region, so we get kind of hit both ways," Allergist Dr. Thomas Lupoli said.

Lupoli expects to see more sufferers in his Southside office until the season ends in May.
"We're starting to see more patients coming in with complaints of itchy eyes and sneezing," he said.
Lupoli said the key is avoiding the outdoors and keeping all your windows shut.
