MAYPORT, Fla. — More than 340 sailors departed Naval Station Mayport Tuesday morning for a seven-month deployment aboard USS The Sullivans.
Families gathered to say goodbye to their loved ones, several told Action News Jax they are proud of their sailor for joining the armed forces and will be praying for a safe return.
USS The Sullivans will sail to the 5th and 6th fleet of operations in the Mediterranean to train and provide maritime security operations.
