A Jacksonville 13-year-old who wants to be an astronaut raised more than $15,000 for local girls to see a new movie for free.
Taylor Richardson, a Duval County 7th grader, started a GoFundMe on New Year's Eve to raise money for tickets to see "Hidden Figures."
The film tells the story of two engineers who are African-American women that worked on getting John Glenn into space.
She quickly surpassed her goal of $2,600 and raised enough money to buy out two theaters at AMC Regency in Jacksonville on Saturday.
