Jacksonville, Fl — Saying Jacksonville has momentum in the sports world, local leaders this morning announced a street skateboarding championship in downtown Jacksonville this fall.
The SLS Super Crown World Championship will be November 13 and 14.
“It’s been a long time coming”, said Alan Verlander, CEO of Air Stream Ventures. Verlander said they started working on this event over a year ago, and the pandemic challenged planning in several ways.
“The ultimate skate park to host the 2021 street league world skateboard championship”, Mayor Lenny Curry said during the announcement held along the St. Johns River.
