Jacksonville Jaguars hold scrimmage Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars called their Saturday night scrimmage inside EverBank Field a success.

The Jags had numerous players sitting out with injuries.  Running back Toby Gerhart did not play because of tightness in his leg.  The Jags are trying to keep their players as healthy as possible.

Cecil Shorts, III, Allen Robinson, Dekoda Watson, Tandon Doss, Clay Harbor, Brandon Linder, Alan Ball, and JT Thomas were among the players missing the scrimmage because of injury.

The 90 minute scrimmage showcased some pretty good quarterback play from Chad Henne and rookie Blake Bortles.  Mike Brown, a veteran wide receiver, had the best night out of the receivers and Jordan Todman had some good looking runs.

This is the first time football has been played with the new videoboards.

The Jags will host the first preseason game Friday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
