Governor DeSantis credits Walgreens with ‘leaning in’ to deliver vaccines three days ahead of schedule.

Orlando VA COVID-19 vaccinations

Jacksonville, Fl — Coronavirus vaccinations are set to begin Friday in Jacksonville long-term care facilities.

Governor Ron DeSantis tweeted late last night that Walgreens will begin their mission to vaccinate staff and residents at Florida’s long-term care facilities today in Jacksonville three days ahead of schedule. He says there is no time to waste.

The development comes as Florida prepares to receive 367,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine next week, pending authorization by the FDA. The vaccine will be distributed to 173 hospitals across the state.
