The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is working to let go of one of its DUI police officers.
Rodney Bryant is accused of threatening three women with a gun after leaving a gentlemen's club over the weekend.
Action News Jax reporter Elizabeth Pace was in court Sunday for Bryant's first appearance. Bryant has since bonded out of jail.
Bryant had several family members in court. Pace tried to speak with them to get Bryant's side of the story, but they declined to comment.
Bryant faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – one count for each of the women he allegedly threatened with a gun.
#NEW This is the first time we're showing Rodney Bryant after his first court appearance. He's charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This morning, I found he has since bonded out of jail. His arraignment hearing is set for April 16th. pic.twitter.com/1egLisYKau— Elizabeth Pace (@PaceAnJax) March 25, 2019
JSO says Bryant is a five-year veteran with the police force.
Undersheriff Pat Ivey said, "His police powers are stripped as normal protocol with us, even if he was arrested just for a misdemeanor. But, this being a felony, we will move to terminate this individual."
A judge set Bryant's arraignment hearing for April 16.
