Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office investigating reported shooting in Hogan’s Creek area

The remains of a woman who went missing 12 years ago appears to have been found inside a minivan in a small retention pond by Walt Disney World.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported shooting in the Hogan’s Creek area.

JSO stated that at approximately 8 p.m., officers responded to a call from a local hospital about a person who had been shot.

A teenage boy had suffered a single gunshot wound to the arm. Authorities determined that his injuries were non-life-threatening.

JSO’s initial investigation determined that the victim was walking in the area West 17th Street and North Laura Street when he heard gunshots and realized he had also been shot in the foot.

An unknown person that was driving by transported the victim to the hospital.

At this time, no crime scene has been located, and there is currently no description of a suspect.

The Violent Crimes Detectives are canvassing for witnesses and video surveillance, and this is an ongoing investigation.
