JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Friday the opening of a citizens-facing Public Services Building near its new headquarters in the city’s Brooklyn area.
The building will open Monday at 450 Magnolia Street, about a quarter-mile from JSO’s new headquarters in the former Blue Cross building at 532 Riverside Avenue.
The Public Services building will serve as a one-stop destination, bringing together many of the essential services the public relies on each day, JSO said in a news release.
That to includes citizens-facing services such as fingerprints, public records, performer work applications / renewals, and recruitment services.
Office hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. excluding weekends and federal holidays.
This move by JSO - after 49 years on Bay Street in the heart of Downtown - provides convenient and adequate free parking.
District 1 members will also work out of this location following the move from offices on Norwood Avenue earlier this month.
Also, available at JSO’s Headquarters is the Prescription Drug Drop Box accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This box, provided by the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI), allows citizens to anonymously dispose of unused and outdate medications and prescriptions for proper disposal.
