Jacksonville woman accused of impersonating IRS employee, indicted

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Duval County woman has been  indicted on charges of identity theft, false representation of a Social Security number, and impersonating a federal employee, officials say.

Leyvis Taveras, 35, faces a maximum of 13 years in federal prison if convicted on all counts.

Officials say Taveras aided and abetted the false representation of two Social Security numbers in a tax filing with the Internal Revenue Services.

Taveras pretended to be an employee of the IRS, investigating the identity theft associated with the Social Security numbers, according to the indictment.
