DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is honoring its fallen officers Wednesday morning.
The event honors the 61 officers who have been killed in the line of duty since 1840 with a flag fold presentation, a 21-gun salute and a flyover.
Officer Mark Larson's name will be added to the memorial wall. He's survived by his wife and young son. JSO said he died in March 2014 from injuries sustained in a 1993 traffic stop that turned violent. Larson critically injured by a suspect who ran away.
The ceremony starts at 10:45 a.m. Surviving family members and friends of these brave officers will be on-hand, and the public is also welcome to attend.
