JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was found dead in the roadway of Doeboy Street on Friday morning.

WHAT WE KNOW:
- Police responded to the 5600 block of Doeboy Street in Moncrief area at 6 a.m. in reference to a person found unresponsive in the road
- Officers arrived and found the man deceased with "unknown injuries"
- Police say gunfire was heard in same area around midnight but are unable to determine if the two incidents are related
