JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A person is dead following a shooting Thursday morning on Wood Avenue, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police say the received a call at 1 a.m. about a domestic incident at the 4600 block of Wood Avenue. "Prior to being dispatched, the call was upgraded to a person shot and police were immediately dispatched," JSO said.

When officers arrived at the area, they found a person with a gunshot wound. The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital and he was pronounced deceased.
