JSO releases sketch of man suspected of exposing himself to juveniles

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who reportedly touched himself sexually and exposed himself to juveniles in Northwest Jacksonville this week.

Action News Jax spoke with a 14-year-old boy who said he encountered the man twice.

Marcellis Stinnett said he first saw the man Tuesday when the man was touching himself sexually along Harding Avenue.

Stinnett then saw the man again Wedensday on Thrasher Avenue.

This time, the man was sexually touching himself and then ran after Stinnett.

“I saw him playing with himself, so that’s when I started walking all the way, and that’s when he got out the car and starting running after me,” Stinnett said. "I picked up a bottle and threw it at him. Started running.”

“I basically went crazy, because I literally wanted to catch him and choke him,” Stinnett’s mother, Zharvellis Holmes, said.

Holmes said her son ran to a nearby house for help, and the men there tried to catch the man but were unable to catch up with him.

Holmes contacted the police, and Stinnett provided a description that led to a sketch.

“I went from door to door letting people know,” Holmes said.

Holmes said a neighbor told her a young girl has also seen this man touching himself.

Police said the man was spotted in an older model green car, possibly a 1990s Chevy with paint peeling from it.

Holmes said she wants him off the streets and out of her neighborhood for good.

“There will be relief when he’s caught, because I don’t want him hurting anybody’s baby,” Holmes said.
