High school put on lockdown due to a shooting in Durkeeville

JACKSONVILE, Fla. — At around 9 a.m. Thursday, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at 1400 West 13th Street.

When JSO arrived, they located a male in their 30s with a gunshot wound on their upper body.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Due to Stanton High School being in the surrounding area of the incident, they did a precautionary lockdown due to the reports of the sounds of gunfire.

The lockdown was lifted at 9:30 a.m. and all the staff and students are safe.

The suspect is unknown.

Violent Crime Detectives and Crime Scene Detectives have responded to the scene and are currently conducting their investigation.
