JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are investigating a shooting at a Southside apartment complex Wednesday night.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded at about 9 p.m. to a reported shooting at The Grove at Deerwood apartments on Princeton Square Boulevard.
Officials said a woman was shot multiple times in the arms, legs and possibly her middle extremities. The victim is believed to have been inside an apartment at the time of the shooting.
The woman was taken to UF Health Jacksonville for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
“It's very sad. I feel sorry for her family,” said Susan Aerteker, who has worked near the complex for 30 years and said she feels safe in the area.
Neighbors inside the complex said crime happens there, but it’s usually smaller, less violent crimes.

Action News Jax checked JSO’s crime mapping system and found that in the last year, were 63 crimes in a quarter-mile radius. The crimes ranged from car burglaries to fraud.
Witnesses at the scene said police were seen looking in the bushes around nearby the apartments.
Other neighbors nearby said people heard fighting before the shooting.
JSO said at this time, there are no suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
