Lakeview Health offering free resources to help lower overdose rate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Overdoses are on the rise in Jacksonville.

In order to reverse this trend, Lakeview Health is now offering free resources for loved ones to get help.

In March alone overdoses were up about 20% in Jacksonville – alcohol sales have gone up drastically too.

Lakeview Health is also seeing an uptick in admissions for treatment.

Lakeview’s chief medical officer, Dr. Lantie Jorandby, says many are feeling anxious during this time, which is only exasperating the issue.

That’s why they’ve rolled out free support groups and help for anyone who might need it. Resources that can remind you – you’re not alone.

“Knowing that, OK, I feel really scared, but you know what, they do too and we talked about it and we have ways that we’re gonna figure out how to make it through together,” Jarandby said.

These resources aren’t just for those struggling but for loved ones who might have someone who’s going through a tough time.

The best way to get in touch with these free support groups is by going on Lakeview’s Facebook page.
