Large trailer containing thousands of dollars in furniture stolen; owner offering $1,000 reward

A local businesswoman is offering a reward to help find a stolen trailer with thousands of dollars worth of furniture inside.

Robin Culberhouse, who owns Robin’s Furniture, has been in business for 22 years.

Her store sits right on Edgewood Avenue South, where she caters to customers looking for high-end furniture at discount prices.

“Beautiful furniture. We sell floor models from high-end stores. In this particular instance, the furniture was from Bloomingdale’s,” said Culberhouse.

That’s what she said was inside the store’s white trailer when it was taken right off the lot Tuesday.

Now she’s not only missing the furniture but also her trailer, which she needs to make deliveries.

“My husband and myself, neither one of us have another job, so this is it. It kind of put us on a little bit of a standstill right now until we can get our stuff together again,” said Culberhouse.

Culberhouse said the furniture inside the trailer is valued at anywhere between $3,500 and $4,500.

Her trailer was parked in a small parking lot off the corner of Woolman Avenue and Hamilton Street.

Culberhouse said whoever took it had to have a big truck in order to haul it away. She said it’s not the first time her store has been the target of thieves.

“Probably about 10 years ago, we had a trailer stolen back behind here and it had a delivery in it as well,” said Culberhouse.

She’s fed up with the crime.

“It aggravates everybody,” said Culberhouse.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office crime map, the area has had at least 47 reports of burglaries and thefts in the last three months.

Culberhouse is offering a $1,000 reward if you can help her locate her trailer.

The trailer is described as white, about 24 feet long and 7.5 feet high. Its tag is GVSD05, and it also has the words “Wells Cargo” on the side.
