Thirza Jones is a father of four and works in the lawn care business to support his family.
Last week, someone tried to snatch away his livelihood by stealing most of his lawn equipment from his shed.
“They took two weed eaters, my edger, my blower, my compressor and a couple other small things,” said Jones.
Since then, Jones had to buy a few tools just to get by.
Jones works on Suzanne Shaughnessy’s lawn. When she heard what happened, she wanted to help.

“He’s a hard worker, and it seemed like he got cut off at the knee when this happened,” said Shaughnessy.
Shaughnessy posted a message to Facebook asking if anyone had used lawn equipment in good condition.
“It occurred to me that almost everyone has something lying around in their garage that they’re not using,” said Shaughnessy.
Just minutes later, she got a response, but people did not have the professional gas-powered kind of tools Jones needs for his big jobs.
Shaughnessy believes more people will reach out.
