JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Several bridges in the Jacksonville area are considered structurally deficient. That means elements of the bridge are rated in poor or worse conditions. Those elements include the deck, superstructure and the culvert of the bridge.

The deck refers to the road of the bridge that carries traffic across the bridge.

Bridges are inspected and rated on a scale from 0 to 9 – with 0 considered failed condition and 9 as excellent condition. A rating of 4 is considered in poor condition.
