BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — Lonzie Barton's mother will serve the rest of her sentence for her Baker County conviction.
Action News Jax has been following this story since July 2015 when 21-month-old Lonzie first disappeared. His body was found six months later.

An autopsy found Lonzie had blunt force trauma to the head. His mother's boyfriend, Ruben Ebron, claimed Lonzie drowned while Ebron and Lonna Barton were having sex. Ebron then hid Lonzie's body.
Lonna Barton is now serving a total of 12 years. The case she appealed applies to the drug conviction in Baker County. Documents show Florida's First District Court of Appeals upheld her seven-year sentence for those charges.

Court records show that decision was made on May 24 -- so recent that the Baker County Clerk of Court tells Action News Jax's Russell Colburn that they hadn't even been notified yet.
Lonna Barton is also serving a five-year sentence for Duval County charges of child neglect and lying to police, bringing the length of her total sentence to 12 years.
She's serving time at the Gadsen Correctional Facility and her release is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2027.

Lonzie's disappearance captivated the community as police and volunteer groups relentlessly searched for the little boy with bright blue eyes.
Six months after Lonzie's disappearance, Ebron finally led investigators to Lonzie's remains.
Ebron is currently serving a 20-year sentence in the toddler's death.
