JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A fast-growing ice cream chain known for creating distinctive, chef-inspired flavors announced this month it is opening a store in Jacksonville.
According to a Facebook post, Columbus, Ohio-based Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is coming to Jacksonville, with plans to open a shop in Five Points.
The chain, launched by Jeni Britton-Bauer as a single store in 2002, has since expanded to 80 shops across the U.S. with its own unique recipes.
Eschewing traditional commercial ice cream mixes, Jeni’s offers inventive flavors, such as Brambleberry Crisp, Brown Butter Almond Brittle and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries.
In addition to its stores, it products are distributed in pints in thousands of grocery stores.
