Man arrested for March deadly stabbing at Northside restaurant

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested a man more than two months after a deadly stabbing on the Northwest.

Marlon Williams, 39, was arrested for murder after JSO said he stabbed Patrick Pitter, 50, on March 9 at the Everready Restaurant and Lounge on Lem Turner.

JSO said the stabbing happened after a heated argument during a card game.

"The victim and the suspect were playing cards when a verbal dispute broke out," JSO Chief of Investigations Mike Bruno said. "There were other patrons and players at the card table when the dispute broke out, and they continued playing cards."

Bruno said Williams stabbed Pitter in the neck and throat.

“The victim staggered out of the lounge on to Lem Turner Road where he collapsed and died,” Bruno said. “The whole incident was captured on the lounge’s surveillance video.”

Bruno said JSO spent the last two months interviewing witnesses, but said no one knew what the fight was about that led to the stabbing.
