A man and woman have been arrested in connection with an alleged armed robbery of a 35-year old St. Johns County man.
The two suspects were identified as Charles McFerrin Quick, 25, of Ponte Vedra Beach, and Rhiannon Lee Hart.
Quick was picked up when he arrived at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport Wednesday evening. Hart was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office after she was released from Baptist South Hospital on Thursday
The investigation began when the male victim told deputies that he had been robbed at gunpoint while at the Super 8 motel at State Road 16 and I-95. The victim told Major Crimes Unit Detectives that he responded to an ad that was placed in an e-commerce website seeking an escort.
The victim went to the motel early Tuesday and found two females in the room. A short time later one of the females, (Hart), reportedly unlocked the door and the male suspect, who was armed with a rifle, entered room and allegedly kicked the victim and knocked him to the floor. The couple allegedly took cocaine and $350 from the victim and left.
Detectives were able to identify the other female and located her in Jacksonville later in the day. She told investigators that she was unaware of the planned robbery, however, was able to identify the two suspects.
The two suspects are each charged with robbery with a firearm which carries a $500,000 bond.
The investigation is continuing.
