Man shot, killed while driving on St. Johns Bluff Road, Jacksonville officers say

A man is dead after Jacksonville officers said he was shot in his car while driving on St. Johns Bluff Road Wednesday night.

At approximately 9:23 p.m., officers were called out to the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road in reference to a person shot.

After he was shot, authorities said his car crashed into another car.

Police said they found the man inside the car with several gunshot wounds.

The man was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Investigators are currently speaking with two witnesses. The man's identity has not been released at this time.
