JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was rushed to the hospital in critical condition Sunday night after he was shot in the neck outside of his home. Jacksonville police were called to the 2000 block of Evergreen Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. in reference to a person shot.

“The initial investigation revealed the victim was outside of his residence when he was approached by an unknown individual,” a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office news release states. “The victim and suspect were involved in a verbal altercation.”
During the argument the shooter pulled out a gun and fired a round striking the victim once in the neck, the news release states. “The injury the victim sustained is considered non life threatening at this time,” the news release states.
No arrests were made.
