A man believed to be in his mid-20's was shot and killed in West Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO said they responded to the 2800 block of Sophia Street around 9:15 pm Saturday after receiving calls about a person shot.
According to JSO, they discovered a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by rescue personnel, JSO said.
JSO homicide detectives and the crime scene unit worked into the night interviewing witnesses and recovering evidence, including several shell casings that were left at the scene, JSO said.
