Maps: FHP releases hotspots for deadly crashes in Northeast Florida counties

New numbers released Wednesday by the Florida Highway Patrol shed light on some dangerous roadways in Northeast Florida.

Those statistics are prompting a revived safety initiative from FHP: Arrive Alive.

The numbers were compiled over five years, revealing different hotspots for areas where deadly crashes in happen frequently in Northeast Florida counties.

FHP will be devoting more of their resources to these areas.

Out of 9 counties in Northeast Florida, there are a total of 33 hotspots. St. Johns and Duval counties have the most.

Three hotspots in St. Johns County are located between Interstate 95 and A1A. Three hotspots in Duval County are located between downtown Jacksonville and Jacksonville International Airport, specifically between Interstate 295 where Interstate 10 and I-95 separate. Another Duval County hotspot is located on I-295 between Gate Parkway and Beach Boulevard.
