Sheriff's Office releases cause of death of Marion County mother

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — The Marion County Sheriff's Office said Monday morning that they have received an update from the Medical Examiner’s office in the death of Casei Jones.

Michael Jones Jr., Casei's husband, is accused of killing her.

"It has been officially determined to be the result of blunt force trauma," the Sheriff's Office stated.

Investigators said Jones Jr. confessed to beating his wife with a baseball bat during an argument at a home in Marion County.

The forensic reports of her four children have not been completed.

"At this time, no other charges have been brought," MCSO stated.
