According to the Department of Health, in 2015, Daniel Kaelin, a massage therapist at Chiropractic Plus in Ponte Vedra Beach, inappropriately touched a client. According to documents, he said he wanted to have sex with her. He later told her, “this never happened.”

Action News Jax checked the license for Chiropractic Plus. It has two local locations – both have clear, active licenses with no disciplinary action.

At PT Spa in Springfield, two massage therapists had their licenses revoked in May, years after masturbating an undercover investigator. We also checked PT Spa, and its license is clear and active.

Action News Jax reached out to the state to see why it took so long for their licenses to be revoked.

The state responded and listed a number of reasons, including a delay in getting all the evidence needed to file a complaint, or even finding the person involved.

State leaders also said there’s a new bill HB 851 that just passed, awaiting the governor’s approval. They believe this bill will stop misconduct, and prevent businesses previously disciplined from reopening.
